Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s 2024 Christmas card surprised fans with six photos. Alongside the usual images of charity work, a photo of the couple preparing to hold their two children, Prince Archie (5) and Princess Lilibet (3), attracted special attention. Since leaving the British Royal Family in 2020 and moving to the US, living in an £11 million mansion in Montecito, the couple has kept their children’s images to a minimum for privacy reasons.

Prince Harry has said that his desire to give his children as normal a life as possible is more feasible in the US. A friend of the couple also revealed that the children’s faces were not shown publicly due to concerns about their safety. This may explain why the couple chose to include a photo of their children running from behind as they greeted their parents in their Christmas card. In the photo, Lilibet is wearing a white and blue dress, while Archie is wearing jeans and a sweater.
A source once shared: “Harry does not want to make his children public, not because he wants to hide them, but because he wants to protect their privacy and safety from potential threats. He wants them to have as normal a life as possible without fear of being kidnapped or harmed.” Although the Prince himself has never directly said this, he has expressed gratitude for raising his children in the US instead of the UK.
