According to the Times UK, Prince William and his wife – Duchess Kate Middleton – have arrived in Norfolk to start the Royal Christmas holiday. This means that the Welsh couple will not attend the British royal family’s usual pre-Christmas lunch at Buckingham Palace, which is hosted by King Charles.
According to the same source, their three children, George, Charlotte and Louis, also went to Norfolk with their parents and did not attend the luncheon. Prince William and his wife’s withdrawal from the event is said to be unrelated to the previous scandals about Prince Andrew.
Meanwhile, King Charles will still be at the palace and host a pre-Christmas party with other members. Members of the royal family will be present, including Prince Edward, and Princess Sophie. In addition, 70 other guests will also attend, in accordance with British royal tradition.
Last year, King Charles held the celebration at Windsor Castle but this year he brought the party back to the traditional Buckingham Palace venue, just as it was during the reign of Queen Elizabeth II.
