Royal fans were thrilled to see Samuel Chatto, the grandson of the late Princess Margaret, drive into Buckingham Palace. He was among the guests at a pre-Christmas luncheon hosted by King Charles. The appearance of Sam, as Samuel is affectionately known, quickly became a topic of discussion on social media.

Samuel Chatto (28), the eldest son of Lady Sarah Chatto and Daniel Chatto, is a sculptor and owner of a pottery studio in West Sussex. He was seen driving to the Palace, while his parents arrived in a separate car. Sam wore a smart suit under a dark coat, paired with a Prince of Wales Highgrove scarf in mustard and grey.

Born on July 28, 1996, Sam is 29th in line to the throne. He attended Eton, England’s prestigious school, before enrolling at the University of Edinburgh to study History of Art in 2018. Although they do not undertake royal duties, the Chatto family regularly attend important events with other members of the Royal Family. They were present at King Charles’ coronation, the Princess of Wales’ Christmas concert and Royal Ascot.
Sam also has a younger brother, Arthur (born 5 February 1999). Arthur is a former personal trainer and currently serves in the Royal Marines. Fans have been paying tribute to Sam on social media platform X (formerly Twitter). One user wrote: “Oh my gosh, look at him!” Another asked: “Wow it’s been a while since I’ve seen him. I think I’ve seen pictures of Arthur more but I haven’t seen him in a while. He’s amazing. Is he in college or in the military too?”

Another replied: “Sam works in the arts. He left university a long time ago. Actually, we’ve seen more of Sam in recent years than Arthur!!” And another said: “The two Chatto boys should be more involved in Royal activities. They’ve always been active in the Royal family, responsible and trustworthy, good role models for the Royal Family. Hopefully we’ll see more of them.”
