King Charles has been spotted out alone in Scotland — just days after a fresh warning about keeping Prince Andrew’s family at a distance.

On August 10, the 76-year-old monarch was seen driving himself to Sunday service at Crathie Kirk, a small church near Balmoral Castle where the royal family traditionally worship during their summer retreat. With the windows down and a calm expression, Charles made the short journey from the castle in his silver estate car, looking relaxed despite the headlines swirling around his family.

This appearance came only a few days after royal author Andrew Lownie publicly advised the King to “keep the whole York family at a distance” and hinted that “more scandals” involving them could surface. His comments, made during an interview for Palace Confidential, pointed to Prince Andrew, Sarah Ferguson, and their daughters Princess Beatrice and Princess Eugenie.

Lownie’s warning is tied to ongoing scrutiny of Prince Andrew, who has faced years of controversy over his associations and public image.

Before this church outing, Charles had visited RAF Lossiemouth on August 6 to re-present the squadron standard to Number 42 Squadron. The King is expected to be joined at Balmoral soon by Prince William and Princess Kate, as the royal family continues their summer holiday in the Scottish Highlands.
