Carole and Michael Middleton Support Daughter Kate at Her Fifth Annual Christmas Carol Service

Kate’s parents were among the many members of her family to support her at the annual holiday fixture.

he entire Middleton family turned out in full support of the Princess of Wales at her fifth Christmas carol service on Friday evening. Carole and Michael Middleton arrived at Westminster Abbey early, with Carole wearing a festive green tartan coat with matching heels. Her daughter-in-law Alizee Thevenet also went for a plaid look, opting for a beige suit from French label Sézane, while James Middleton kept his look classic for the family event in a long wool, double-breasted overcoat with a dark turtleneck.

This year’s Christmas carol service, formally known as “Together At Christmas,” carries special weight following a busy year as Kate returned to work after completing treatment for her cancer diagnosis. The Palace said that the Princess of Wales wanted “to recognize and thank the many people around the country who are acting with love in their communities, contributing to a more cohesive and connected society.”

More than 1,600 people have been invited to the service, from community volunteers who have been invited for their social contributions to famous entertainers who will be featured during the production. For example, the show will include readings by British actors Kate Winslet, Chiwetel Ejiofor, and Hannah Waddingham.

According to Kensington Palace, the service is intended to “bring people together to celebrate love in all its forms—whether it’s love within families, through friendships, across communities, or even through powerful moments of connection with strangers. In a world that can often feel fragmented and disconnected, love is the force that reconnects us all—spanning generations, communities, cultures, and faiths.”
