Royal experts argue that the pair are the best representation of the modern monarchy
Prince William and Kate Middleton could take centre stage in a historic American celebration next year, with a royal expert declaring the couple âperfectâ for the role.
The United States will mark 250 years since its Declaration of Independence from Britain in 2026, a milestone anniversary that is already sparking speculation about who will represent the UK on the world stage.

Donald Trumpâs UK state visit
The prediction comes ahead of another key moment in USâUK royal relations: President Trumpâs second state visit to Britain, which is scheduled for September 17â19, 2025.
It will mark the first time a modern American president has received two such honours.
Trump and First Lady Melania Trump will be received by King Charles, with formal events and engagements taking place over three days.
Trump is also expected to visit his motherâs native Scotland later this summer.
However, both the White House and Buckingham Palace agreed to reserve formal royal meetings for the full state occasion in September, due to scheduling issues.
Trump made his first state visit in 2019 and met Queen Elizabeth II and Charles, then the Prince of Wales.
Earlier this year, the president praised King Charles as a âbeautiful manâ when the state visit invitation was hand-delivered by Prime Minister Keir Starmer during a White House meeting.
Despite the fanfare, Trumpâs upcoming visit has sparked backlash.
A Change.org petition urging King Charles to revoke the invite has gained over 50,000 signatures. The petitionâs creator argues Trumpâs actions clash with British values.
It is one of dozens of online efforts opposing the trip. However, only government-run petitions can trigger official responses or debate.
Nonetheless, public pressure continues to grow as the September visit approaches.
