Breaking News: Prince Harry and his son Archie have arrived in London after five years away, both overjoyed as the Royal Family grants them a new title: “My dear, let’s go home…”

Prince Harry and his son Archie have recently arrived in London after a five-year absence. During their visit, the Royal Family updated their official titles, recognizing their royal status. Archie, who was previously known as Master Archie, is now titled Prince Archie of Sussex, while his sister, Lilibet, has been given the title Princess Lilibet of Sussex.

This change aligns with the royal protocol established in 1917, which grants grandchildren of the reigning monarch the right to use the titles Prince and Princess. Following Queen Elizabeth II’s passing and King Charles III’s ascension to the throne, Archie and Lilibet became eligible for these titles

Prior to this update, Archie and Lilibet were referred to as Master Archie Harrison Mountbatten-Windsor and Miss Lilibet Diana Mountbatten-Windsor, respectively. Their new titles were reflected on the Royal Family’s official website following Lilibet’s christening in March 2025.

In a statement, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex’s Archewell organization confirmed that the children’s titles have been a birthright since their grandfather became monarch and that this matter has been settled in alignment with Buckingham Palace.

The Duke of Sussex also made the trip to the U.K. for King Charles’ coronation in May 2023. However, Harry did not play a role in the crowning ceremony and headed to the airport to return to California immediately after the event.

The question of Prince Harry’s security in the U.K. has contributed to ongoing tensions with his father. Those close to Harry previously told PEOPLE that the monarch was not taking his son’s calls or responding to his letters.

“He gets ‘unavailable right now,’ ” a friend of Harry’s said in July 2024. “His calls go unanswered. He has tried to reach out about the King’s health, but those calls go unanswered too.”

The Duke of Sussex arrives at the Royal Courts of Justice, central London, for the start of his appeal against a High Court ruling on his legal claim against the Home Office over the level of security he receives while he is in the UK
