Trump’s running mate, JD Vance, isn’t buying what Harris is selling. “You have the entire Democratic campaign running on a kind of collective amnesia where they say that Kamala Harris will do this thing on day one, or Kamala Harris has a vision to accomplish that thing, and then you realize Kamala Harris has been the vice president for three and a half years,” Vance tells Glenn, adding, “she has affirmatively made all of these problems worse.”…“This is just not something that the American people buy,” Vance says.
According to Vance, the problem isn’t just that Harris is rehashing the same tired ideas—it’s that she’s actively made things worse. Take the border crisis, for instance. Harris has been the point person for this issue, yet the situation has only deteriorated under her watch. And let’s not forget about the economy, where inflation has spiraled out of control, leaving the middle class to pick up the pieces. Yet, despite these glaring failures, the Democratic campaign insists that Harris is the one to fix it all. Vance, for one, isn’t convinced, and he’s not alone.
As if the ongoing economic turmoil weren’t enough, there’s also the matter of national security. Harris’s administration has come under fire for its handling—or lack thereof—of the recent assassination attempt on former President Donald Trump. With the investigation still incomplete and many questions left unanswered, the situation has only added to the growing list of concerns surrounding Harris’s leadership. Vance points out that this is a critical issue that demands immediate attention, yet the response has been lackluster at best.
Never one to shy away from calling it as he sees it, Vance sums up the situation with his usual flair. The Democratic messaging, he argues, is giving Americans whiplash. One minute, voters are told that the Biden economy is a roaring success—despite all evidence to the contrary. Next, they’re asked to believe that the very person who has been part of that administration for years will magically turn things around. It’s a tough sell, to say the least.

The promises of a brighter future ring hollow when they come from someone who has been at the helm during some of the nation’s darkest moments.
