Among a room of royals and high profile guests, Kate Middleton stole the spotlight on Wednesday night as she attended a state banquet held for Donald and Melania Trump.
Mother-of-three Kate was described as ‘stunning’ by royal watchers who described her look as ‘breathtaking’.
The US president and First Lady are currently in the UK undertaking a state visit, and the occasion was marked in style as they joined King Charles, 76, Queen Camilla, 77, Prince William, and Kate, both 43, at the Windsor Castle event.
And Kate, 43, looked dazzling, sporting a Phillipa Lepley silk crepe gown underneath a hand-embroidered gold Chantilly lace evening coat. She also donned the late Queen Elizabeth II’s and the King’s Royal Family Order and a blue sash, representing that she is a Dame Grand Cross of the Royal Victorian Order
Notably, she also wore the famous Lover’s Knot tiara, which was once owned by Princess Diana and was kept in a safe at Buckingham Palace after her 1997 death before it was handed to Kate.
The headpiece – which Diana said was so heavy it gave her headaches – was made by Royal jewellers Garrard in 1914 to Queen Mary’s personal design, from pearls and diamonds already in her family’s possession.
Prince William’s wife wore her newly bronde tresses loose, letting them fall in soft waves underneath her tiara. She accessorised her look with a pair of drop earrings.
Royal watchers were huge fans of the princess’ look, taking to social media to praise her style.

Another added: ‘She is absolutely breathtaking. Who designed her dress? And yes, Prince William is as handsome as ever. What a power couple!!’
Meanwhile, a third penned: ‘I was NOT ready for it… absolutely stunning.’
In a similar vein, another said: ‘She looks… stunning….i am speechless. After that gold dress on Bond premiere…this is sooo one of my favourites!!!’
And a further commentator added: ‘This dress!!! They both look so good!!!’
‘I just can’t with these gorgeous couple,’ another Instagram user noted.
One impassioned fan penned: ‘I knew she would look phenomenal…BUT THIS???? My jaw dropped, literally. Breathtaking.’

Royal fans took to social media to praise the Princess and Prince of Wales and how they looked at the banquet on Wednesday
Many royal fans also praised Prince William’s look, with one saying he looked ‘handsome as ever’ in his evening garb.
William sported the Windsor Uniform – a dark navy blazer with red collar and cuffs – with with a white shirt and black trousers.
He also sported the blue sash and star of the Order of the Garter, as well as another star denoting his position as a Knight of the Order of the Thistle, and a third representing that he is a Great Master of the Order of the Bath. And finally, he donned four medals – one each from the late Queen Elizabeth II’s Golden, Diamond and Platinum Jubilees, and the King’s coronation medal.
Both King Charles and the US president gave speeches at the banquet. During his, Donald Trump praised William and Kate.
He said: ‘I just wanted to say His Majesty has raised a remarkable son in His Royal Highness, the Prince of Wales. Really amazing, I have gotten to know you and you have an unbelievable success in future. To see her Royal Highness Princess Catherine, so radiant and so healthy, so beautiful. ‘
