The Duchess looks lovely with her high ponytail for her final appearance on this Caribbean tour. The yellow/white colours in the dress fabric reflect a sun kissed look to Duchess Catherine.
One thinks of the Caribbean as colourful and flamboyant with a bit of va va voom. In this sense, the Alessandro Rich dress fits the Caribbean vibe. Is it over the top? A large bow at the neckline, wide ruffled collar, deep peplum, puff sleeves stitched onto buttoned armbands and a rhinestone studded belt buckle all contribute to the design. Until I saw this dress, I didn’t think that all these features could make it into one garment. However, the colourful print lifts this dress and the Duchess wears it better than most women would. I guess one can say the dress is an appropriate acknowledgement to this colourful and vibrant part of the world.
The fabulous earrings work well with both the dress and the high ponytail. I’m becoming quite used to the Duchess wearing white shoes. I guess they are a Caribbean style too.
