According to royal istorian Robert Lacey, the Duke of Sussex has made “missteps” in his recent criticism of the royal family. Harry is now said to have realised that his temper had taken things too far. So he has made moves to reconnect with those he abandoned when he followed his wife from the UK to the US.

Writing in  the Mail , Lacey said: “Homesick Harry has been calling friends in the UK in recent weeks, after he received poor public feedback about his complaints against Prince Charles.”

According to Lacey, friends “tried to show Harry the damage he was facing after his personal complaints about his injuries”.

“I understand that Harry has told friends that he wants to reconcile and is willing to admit some mistakes he has made,” the royal historian added.

Harry had previously arranged a lunch for his old friends when he returned home to attend Prince Philip’s funeral in April. Harry’s secret meeting with his old friends revived hopes that he had not been swept away by his new life and lost his sanity after all.

Harry returned to the UK over the weekend to prepare for the inauguration of his late mother, Princess Diana, which will take place on July 1 at Kensington Palace. The Duke of Sussex is self-isolating at Frogmore Cottage – the couple’s home in the UK. Just half an hour after Harry landed, the Queen drove herself from Windsor Castle to Frogmore Cottage.

It is unclear whether the Queen spoke to Harry immediately, but sources said she planned to have a friendly chat with her grandson to resolve the conflict. In addition, the Queen has also invited Harry to attend the grand celebration of her 70th year on the throne next year.

The Queen also hopes Harry will bring his wife Meghan Markle and their children, Archie Harrison (2) and Lilibet Diana (born on June 4). Commenting on this invitation, Lacey said: “I think the children are the easiest way to reconcile.”
