3 MINUTES AGO! Queen Camilla has urged King Charles to “limit” Prince William’s power within the monarchy

Princess Kate credited with easing tensions between William and Camilla

Queen Camilla has reportedly told King Charles to step in and limit Prince William’s growing influence within the monarchy.

Former royal photographer Ian Pelham Turner told The Mirror that Camilla “is seeing William trying to create issues” and has urged the King to put a stop to it. Turner said speculation has long swirled that the Prince of Wales is positioning himself as “the driving force behind the throne” — a role Camilla believes should remain firmly with Charles.

William’s relationship with Camilla has not always been easy. Royal author Christopher Andersen told Us Weekly that William once merely “tolerated” her, while she was “a little afraid” of him, even admitting she “needed a gin and tonic” after their first meeting.

A family friend recalled how William and Harry, deeply loyal to their late mother Princess Diana, never felt comfortable confiding in Camilla and suspected her of leaking stories to protect her image. But shared challenges — particularly ongoing tensions with Harry and Meghan Markle — have softened relations over time.

Insiders credit Princess Kate with playing a key role in that change. Through consistent kindness and respect, she has helped “warm William” toward Camilla, fostering a more united front among the senior royals.

“William and Kate don’t want any extra drama or tension in the family — they have enough of that with Meghan and Harry,” the source added.
