Prince William and Princess Kate, the future king and queen of Britain, have been noted for their hosting skills as they entertained the US President and his wife during the US state visit. With Donald and Melania, along with their administration team, now returning to the US, William and Kate have ‘reassured royal family fans that the monarchy is safe with them.’
According to one expert, this has been Wales’s time to shine, and they have even shown themselves to be ‘every inch the King and Queen in waiting.’

Fiona Harrold, PR and media commentator, explained, “The state visit of President Trump to the UK has been a resounding success for all. Trump comes out of it looking at ease with Royalty amid all the pomp and ceremony of Windsor Castle, while William and Kate showcased themselves as every inch the King and Queen in waiting.
“Kate looked regal in her carefully chosen Phillipa Lepley dress with her favourite Lover’s Knot tiara, a favourite of Princess Diana’s.
She looked perfectly comfortable with President Trump and Melania and the photograph of her and Trump leaning in towards each other sharing a private joke captured the warmth and lightness of the entire visit.”
She added, “William and Kate have shown the world that they are ready and up to the job of leading the Royal Family into the future. They have reassured royal family fans that the monarchy is safe with them. They have shown critics that the monarchy still has a role to play in bringing in much-needed funding to the UK, with US Tech firms pledging between £150 and £200 billion in investment. They have shown the world that no one outshines the British Royal Family when it comes to a Royal Family!”

The visit has also been noted as being out of the ordinary, as second-term presidents usually don’t get offered state visits. More unusually is the invitation from the Royal Family to host the pair, with British Prime Minister Sir Keir Starmer previously describing the gesture as “truly historic” and “unprecedented.”
As part of his visit, Trump received a military guard of honor and mounted troops upon his arrival in Windsor after spending the night at the U.S. ambassador’s residence in London.
On several occasions, the friendly rapport between Kate and Melania, as well as between Donald and William and Charles, could be seen.
